Shaft

Shaft design is as important as gun is, as it modifies shaft fly during shot after leaving the gun.
In long range shots, a small variation in the flopper could be translated into many cm of missed shot.
Due to gravity, a shaft without flopper or with a double flopper (neutral ballistic) tends to fall during its flight, making a parabola. The flopper works as a flap or spoiler, deviating the shaft towards the opposite side of its position, and its effect increases as more evident it is its protruded or bent. A 2-3mm bent flopper can deviate till 40cm at 5m range in a 140 -150cm shaft its speed is high.
That’s why a recessed flopper underneath works against gravity during the flight. We found that is the most accurate design for a flat shot, and also improves penetration into preys meat and bone. We highly recommend using our designs in all our guns, and keep always the same way.
The slip tip must be rigged with the flopper underneath to keep same effect and accuracy on long shots.
Our shafts are made of 17-4 ph stainless steel, harder than other stainless options as sandvick 52hrc which is harder at impact with rocks but bends much easier.
New HUNT shafts with special abellan design have the most retarded sharkfins, being at just 3cm from the tail to increase bandstretch.
